If you have not yet signed your contract for next year and sent it to the CSO, please do so.  There are only 6 contracts on file for the coming school year!

October 11 PD Day Training Expenses

The following chart is intended to represent how much each school will pay for the October 11, 2019 PD day. The bolded schools will help pay for the presenters. If all the presenters agree, the bolded schools will be sent invoices from the presenter for the total amount (Training + Lunch) so they school can submit that invoice to their school district for Title 2 reimbursement or pay it directly themselves if Title funds are unavailable. The unbolded schools will only have to pay their schools’ lunch amount in the ‘R’ column. Later in the school year, the unbolded schools will help pay for the February 14, 2020 PD day in much the same way the bolded schools are doing for the October 11, 2019 PD day. I will send a similar spreadsheet in the fall reflecting this concept. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Professional Development Workshop: Teaching the Reconstruction Era

On July 30th & 31st, there will be a professional development for teachers, pre-service teachers, and other educators who will benefit from this topic: Teaching the Reconstruction Era. The goal is to reach educators who are currently or soon will be impacting the next generation of citizens. Middle school through high school teachers and pre-service teachers are invited to register for this free, two day workshop to be held in Diamond, MO. See this link to register.

Updated Strategic Plan ~ 2nd Notice

Based on the changes that were made yesterday to the Strategic Plan, you can access the updated Strategic Plan via this link. You may need this to complete your Missouri Non-Public goals.

Protecting God’s Children ~ 2nd Notice

If you have new school employees that need a live PGC workshop before next school year, we have 3 options at the Chancery this summer. Each is 1-4 pm in the Cardinal Baum Room.
• Monday, June 24
• Monday, July 22
• Monday, August 12

It’s important that your new school employees understand that the training day sponsored by the CSO does not include a PGC workshop. School employees must have completed the PGC workshop “within 30 days of employment and activity on the school campus” to meet this requirement.

If you have any questions about safe environment requirements, please contact Sherry Huffman.

Working Calendars ~ 2nd Notice

As the school ends, please be sure your working calendars are updated!

WEEKLY PRAYER INTENTIONS

* Dear God, Joy is the first flower bud in the spring.  Joy is the heat from the sun’s rays in the summer.  Joy is the first leaf that changes to a bright orange in the fall.  Joy is also the first snow of the year.  Oh God, Your day fills me like rivers fill the ocean, complete and full…but without joy I am a puddle neglected and dry.  God, thank you for letting me be able to experience these things.  My wish to you is that joy will open the heartless and give hope and joy to all people. Thanks you God, for all these things. Amen. ~ St. James – Liberty student

* St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Mother of Catholic Schools, obtain for us, we ask thee, the gift of joy.  Guide us to obtain Holy Wisdom and help us to be faithful to the God you so love.  Intercede at the throne of our Lord, that we may adhere to Tradition and learn to more wholly appreciate the great gift of the Blessed Sacrament that is ever present in our schools.  Assist us in our effort to, like you, imitate the Immaculate Virgin Mary and put both Christ and others before ourselves.  Guide us to be charitable towards others with Jesus as our witness and salvation as our goal.  St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Pray for us.  Amen. ~ St. Pius X student

* Please keep Liliana Haggerty in your prayers.  Liliana was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in early May and recently graduated from Our Lady of the Presentation.  She will be attending ST. Michael the Archangel in the fall. Her mom is a teacher at OLP, her aunt is a teacher at SMA and she has many cousins in our diocesan schools. Her dad’s family was recently recognized at the Bright Futures Fund Breakfast for their commitment to Catholic education. She is an amazing young lady who has a battle ahead but a promising prognosis.

* Please keep Becky Evans in your prayers as she had her tonsils out this week.  May she have a quick recovery.

* O Heavenly Father, give us wisdom and hope as we work to strengthen and prosper Catholic Education in our Diocese.  May our Catholic schools help parents to form their children in a relationship of faith, hope and love with and in Jesus Christ.  Make our Catholic schools places where students grow in knowledge, wisdom, integrity and virtue.
