There will be a few door prizes, some snacks, and there will be a few minutes to introduce each other. The meeting should be finished by no later than 3:15.

Principals please make sure your mentor teachers have taken a few minutes to talk with new teachers and review the mentor/mentee form.

If you have not yet sent out your Income Survey please do so NOW.  There are eleven schools who need to get this done.  The Survey will close on October 4th.

Educational Endowment Challenge Grant 2019-20 ~ 2nd Notice

Only 10 schools have applied for the Educational Endowment Challenge Grant for the 2019-20 school year. That means 17 schools did not even apply. The deadline was in June. This challenge grant means that if the school or parish raises $10,000 for their school’s endowment, the school gets another $10,000 matched, so the school increases their endowment by $20,000. This is FREE matching money. Why not do it? The matching amount is limited to $10,000 and is first come first serve. There is about $80,000 left to match. You can set the amount you plan to match from $1,000 to $10,000, whatever you feel comfortable in doing. The deadline has been extended to about 2 weeks from today. So, talk to your pastor or your business manager and find a way to match some amount!!! Call or write Jeremy Lillig to get an application (lillig@diocesekcsj.org).

October 11 PD Day ~ 2nd Notice

We are preparing for the October 11th PD Day.  Please send Kerry the number of people you will have coming right away.  If you would specify how many will be at St. Pius and how many will be at St. Therese ( if you have an ECC ) that would be appreciated.

Flu Clinics ~ 2nd Notice

If you are in need of a flu shot please plan to attend one of the 15 flu clinics being held at locations within the Diocese (see attachment).  Also, if you would like to receive a pregnancy vaccine or the vaccine for ages 65+ you will need to request these vaccines. The clinic provider will only bring these two types of vaccines if they are requested in advance. In order to request these specific vaccines directly with the provider, please email clinicsupport@healthysolutionsinc.com. Tell them which clinic you are attending and which vaccine you desire.

Balsa Bridge Contest ~ 2nd Notice

The University of Missouri, College of Engineering and MU Extension will be hosting the second annual Missouri Bridge Corps’ Balsa Bridge Competition on Saturday, April 18th at Mizzou and we would love to see you on campus! The competition is for student teams from 6th-8th grade. Each team of up to six students led by a faculty mentor will design and build a 36” scaled bridge using balsa and wood glue at their respective school. Materials needed for construction of the bridge will be provided.  You are encouraged to get your students involved in this event! Bridge building promotes the study and applications of physics and engineering. The competition is a perfect opportunity for students to experience what it is to be an engineer and experience advanced STEM education in a hands-on environment.
Please see the attached flyer for more information. Or, visit our websitehttps://engineering.missouri.edu/mizzoubridgecorps for more information and to register your teams by October 15th, 2019. The University of Missouri College of Engineering looks forward to the opportunity to welcome your students to discover how STEM education leads to a better tomorrow.

Email any further inquiries to mizzoubridgecorps@missouri.edu
